International work

Swedac’s international work aims at spreading knowledge of conformity assessment in open systems, at harmonisation and at secure products and services in a world trade without barriers.

Swedac’s work consists of two main areas: international cooperation through various international organisations and support projects in developing countries. All activities are performed in accordance with international rules.

Swedac also arranges international training programmes on the WTO (World Trade Organization) arrangement on technical barriers to trade (TBT), on food safety and negotiating skills. These programmes are financed by Sida and the participants come from developing countries, e.g. in Africa or the Middle East, aiming at becoming members of WTO.
