Swedac is a regulatory and surveillance authority in the field of legal metrology. This is an area in which, in recent years, Swedac has introduced the requirements of EC legislation to Sweden. Swedac also participates in international cooperation in this field.
Several of Swedac's directives are based on EEC directives, such as the directive on measuring instruments, MID.
