Sustainability information

Organisations that wish to report to their stakeholders on how they work with sustainability can prepare a self-declaration of their activities. To enhance credibility, the declaration can be verified by an accredited verification body.

The self-declaration can be prepared in accordance with SIS/TS 2 Sustainability declaration – Self-declaration of systematic sustainability work. The specification is based on ISO 26000 Guidance on social responsibility as well as the UN 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals. It includes a set of questions that the organisation answers to describe its systematic sustainability work.

When a self-declaration is verified, the verification body follows SIS/TS 3 Conformity assessment – Sustainability declaration according to SIS/TS 2 – Verification programme. The programme describes how the verification shall be carried out in order to assess whether the information in the declaration is correct and how the information is to be presented publicly.

To perform such verification, verification bodies are accredited in accordance with ISO/IEC 17029.
