World Accreditation Day is a global initiative to highlight how accreditation creates security in everyday life. Thanks to accreditation we can feel safe when we go up and down in a lift, drive a car or drink water from a tap. This year, the focus is on the construction sector and how accreditation contributes to sustainable and smart cities of the future.

She is learning about quality infrastructure in Sweden
Over four weeks, about 30 senior managers and government officials from seven countries in southern Africa have learned about quality infrastructure and trade under Swedac's supervision. Dr Eve Gadzikwa, Head of Standards Association of Zimbabwe, is one of the participants.

Sweden host for precious metals meeting
Swedac is going to host the Convention on the Control and Marking of Articles of Precious Metals, also known as Precious Metals Convention. The Convention´s Standing Committee meeting will be held in Stockholm on 20 April 2018. More than 20 years have passed since the meeting was last held in Sweden, and now it’s being held in Stockholm for the first time ever.

Swedac participated in the European metrology meeting
On 10-12 May, Welmec, the European Cooperation Organisation for Legal Metrology, held a meeting in Madrid. Swedac was in attendance at the meeting.
